I'm Glad You're Here

My name is Gwen Grigsby and I'm a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (CA #123475) passionate about helping motivated adults process difficult emotions and improve their relationships.

The majority of my practice focuses on helping individuals with anxiety reduction, emotional trauma, and relationship difficulties. I also work with couples to strengthen their relational foundation, work through difficult conversations, and improve their communication strategies and emotional intimacy.

My approach is attachment-based, emotionally focused, and experiential. I use a combination of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), and Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

Healing & Growth

I believe we are all born with the resiliency to handle life's challenges.


As children, we develop necessary strategies to get through. Often, these strategies are helpful at the time, allowing us to survive and stay connected with the people we love and depend on. As we grow into adults and gain more independence, these strategies can become ineffective, leading to emotional and relational difficulties with loved ones, friends, and colleagues.


It takes courage and strength to acknowledge something is no longer working and to seek support. 


As social beings, we aren't meant to face our struggles alone. When in the company of a supportive and compassionate other, we can examine these unhelpful behaviors that hold us back, gain insight and appreciation for the protection they provided, and find a new sense of clarity and confidence to listen to ourselves and live authentically.
